We just released a simple and free advertising system for our users called imo.im broadcasts!
What is a broadcast?
A broadcast is a piece of user-generated content that allows imo.im users to advertise messages without being required to display personal information. Once a user creates a broadcast, it will be shown automatically to others who have selected the same language preference.
Features
How do I start?
Click on create broadcast.
Choose a user account from the drop down menu (you get one broadcast per user account).
Type in a title, url, message, and upload a display icon. Click on the post message button and you are all set!
Click on the my broadcasts tab to view your broadcast statistics: number of views, number of hovers, and number of clicks. Your broadcast will expire in 7 days, but you can click on the renew button to renew your broadcast. You can also terminate your broadcast at any time by clicking the clear button.
We try to keep these broadcasts interesting by automatically refreshing them to display new content. However, if you don't like seeing broadcasts on the bottom of your imo page, just click hide broadcasts, and they will minimize.
What can I broadcast?
You can broadcast almost anything you want, like YouTube videos, your facebook profile, your twitter account, your imo photostream, your small business, or your even own website -- just keep it clean, please.
